Passage: Luke 15:11–15:32

Title: The Prodigal Story
Text: Luke 11:15-32

Summary: For any number of reasons, many of us walk away from God or church. Reasons vary- but we stop pursuing God and start pursuing our own desires. The question is, how do we come back? How do we start over when we walk away? In Luke 15, Jesus tells a great story about how God RESTORES us when we've walked away from him.

Outline:
1.  The danger of self sufficiency (v11-13)
2.  The price of doing it "my way" (v13-17
-Sin promises freedom, but brings slavery.
-Sin promises success, but brings failure.
-Sin promises life, but brings death.
3.  The starting point to Restoration (v18-21)
4.  Grace from the Father (v22-24)
-The difference between mercy and grace?  Mercy gave the prodigal son a second chance, grace threw him a party.
5.  Shared joy instead of judgment (v25-32)
