Sermon Title: Confronted with the Resurrection
Text: Luke 24:36-48
Notes:
If Jesus rose from the grave:
- What does that mean for you?
- What response should you have?
Disbelieving and still wondering:
- Doubt is not the opposite of faith
- Still wondering = still seeking answers / truth
- God’s not afraid of your doubt. He lovingly meets you where you are at.
In the midst of their doubt, Jesus takes the disciples to the Word of God:
- When you pursue God’s word- faith blossoms (even alongside doubt)
If Jesus rose from the grave- what does that mean for you?
- We can be made right with God- Justified. (Romans 4:25)
- Nothing is impossible for God. (Genesis 18:14, 1 Corinthians 15:28)
If Jesus rose from the grave- how should we respond?
- Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. (Romans 10:9-10)
- Believe in your heart that God has raised Jesus from the grave. (Romans 10:9-10)
