Love Your Enemies

March 4, 2018 Speaker: Kevin Deyette Series: Sermon on the Mount

Passage: Matthew 5:38–48

Title: Love Your Enemies
Text: Matthew 5:38-48

Notes:

You can choose to be right or righteous, but you can’t be both.

Love (agape): a deliberate, conscious choice.

“Don’t waste your time bothering whether you ‘love” your neighbor- act as if you did. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him.”- C.S. Lewis

How to Love your enemy:
     1. Choose not to retaliate.
     2. Sacrifice of yourself.
     3. Go the extra mile (cheerfully).
     4. Give generously.

Your love must be the means God uses to bring salvation to the other person.

Is there anything supernatural in the way you love others?
